This Matte finisher is a *dream come true.* I have been loving the matte nail polish trend ever since I first caught wind of it back in early 2011, but where I am from it never really caught on so no stores carried any Matte colored polishes which was disappointing.. Then I read about this specific one online a month ago and have been on the lookout for it ever since. First of all, the fact that it is a clear topcoat is AMAZING, it puts all the specific colored Matte polishes out of business, for sure, because now you don't have to replace your entire nail polish collection, you just add this and it can spice up any color you own! EVEN glitter/sparkles! I have only just had it on for the last 3 hours and I am loving it, I know the most common color I've seen with the matte polish is black, so I decided to go a different route and painted my nails with Loreals "Now you sea me" (a vibrant blue) and painted the tips of my nails with Essies LuxEffects "Shine of the times".. I was curious to see what the glitter would look like with the Matte finish ontop and it actually looks BETTER. Before the matte finish, because I had two seperate nail polishes on, you could see where one polish ended and the other began because of the gloss, it actually looked pretty terrible, but the matte topcoat totally blended the two and it looks AMAZING. You CAN be generous with the application and putting more than one coat doesnt take away from the matte finish at all, you can even be sloppy with it, it dries flat and looks perfect. The only thing I have noticed about this that is negative, is one of my ring fingers dried where I missed a spot and you could see the gloss, so I reapplied the matte top coat, then decided to apply another because I could STILL see it some, and each time it sort of thinned itself out where my cuticle is, like ate away at itself some? I have found with regular gloss top coats, if I apply too much of it or if I do multiple coats it starts to erase/lighten the area by my cuticle, and the same thing happened with the matte finish one.. so I guess don't be THAT generous with it, because it's sort of obvious considering there is gloss underneath semi-shining through.. It's PERFECT though, was tough to get ahold of but keep trying ladies! It's well worth it ;)

I used this with a polish to get a matte finish. You can watch it dry to a matte finish and lasts a long time. I haven't "redone" with another coat. Would use again and recommend to others.

don't waste your time trying other matte's. i did because this essie was always sold out, even online. This is the only one that i've found that works. I wish it were more dramatic.

It makes all nail polishes a matte finish in less than 5 minutes and dries pretty quick too! Just be careful because even though you think it's dry...there are still chances of messing it up!
